Zendaya is one of the most prominent female stars in our generation today, and it was clear from the very moment she stepped foot in the industry that she was headed for something great.
With numerous successful movies and TV shows in her portfolio, you’d think that Zendaya went through rigorous training in prestigious acting schools.

Zendaya’s Educational Background
School theater performances may sound lame for some people, but that’s where Zendaya started out as an actress.
She loved taking part in theater shows in school – so much so that she and other kids convinced their principal at Fruitvale Elementary School to let them perform a play in celebration of Black History Month.
“I was Bessie Coleman, my friends were Harriet Tubman and Madam C.J. Walker. We just felt we needed to raise awareness about the importance of these women.”
From that point forward, Zendaya’s passion for performance arts only grew stronger. When her mother landed the role of being a house manager for California Shakespeare Theater, Zendaya grabbed the opportunity and took up acting roles for the show.
By the time she reached high school, Zendaya had already achieved so much success. She finished two Disney shows, released an album, and published a motivational book for teens – all before she even had her high school diploma.
When asked what made her so interested in acting, she answered:
“I just don’t sing, dance, and act because I love it. You have to have a purpose, and mine is to connect with the world, to get across messages that are important. I’d much rather be known for leaving a little stamp of positivity on one person’s life than for the last project that I did.”
