Adam Levine is arguably one of the most gorgeous pop rock singers of our time. It’s something about his deep, blue eyes, his unique voice, and his fully tatted torso that make women fall head over heels with him.
Sadly, Adam has his eyes locked on one lady only: Victoria’s Secret supermodel Behati Prinsloo. If you’ve seen the Girls Like You music video, you may remember seeing the pair cuddling with their young daughter.
And just as you would expect from a ridiculously good-looking couple, they’ve built a wonderful and beautiful relationship throughout the years. In fact, Adam and Behati are about to celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary this July!
So, join us as we take a trip down memory lane by reviewing the couple’s relationship over the years.
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo: Their First Meeting
The beginning of their love story sounds like something out of a romance novel – the “have we met before?” kind of plot. Apparently, they’ve (literally) crossed paths a number of times before they officially started dating.
In 2011, Adam performed on stage during a Victoria’s Secret fashion show. He was still dating his ex-girlfriend Anne V during that time. But little did he know, his future wife would walk the same runway, too!
Fast forward months later, Adam and Behati are reunited by destiny once more.
“Adam was looking for a girl for a music video that could do some action stuff, and our friend was like, ‘You should meet Behati because she’s a total tomboy and down for anything,’ so he emailed me asking if I could do it. I ended up not doing it, but we kept emailing each other. It was such a natural correspondence that we kind of fell in love over email.”
When the pair met a month later, Behati said “it was love at first sight”. Adam took her out for a romantic dinner where the pair talked for “hours”. Behati described that night as “the best time” in her life.
At first, Adam and Behati kept their relationship lowkey, never really admitting to their romance even when rumors between them were dominating the tabloids. A few months after they were pictured sharing a passionate kiss in Hawaii, Adam and Behati finally came out as a couple by going together at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball.
Adam Proposes To Behati
Their two-month split in 2013 made the two lovebirds reflect on just how much they love each other – so, this time, they’re not fooling around anymore. Adam and Behati decided to commit to their relationship for good by getting engaged.
You would expect that a charismatic guy like Adam handled the proposal smoothly, but he admitted that it was not the case.
“It doesn’t matter how certain you think you are. You still get down on that knee, and you get woozy, and you’re like, ‘I’m doing this, oh my god.’ You can’t be confident about it. I’m a confident person, but I got on that knee and everything changed immediately.”
Adam and Behati’s Big Day
One year after their engagement, Adam and Behati finally tied the knot in July 2014. The wedding ceremony was held in Flora Farms – a place known for its colorful flowers and picturesque landscape.
Around 300 guests were invited to the event, and needless to stay, their big day was star-studded. It was attended by popular celebrities like:
- Robert Downey Jr.
- Jonah Hill
- Coco Rocha
- Stevie Nicks
- Maroon 5 members (obviously)
Ironically, the high-profile wedding was kept under-the-radar. The venue was surrounded by security, making it difficult for any media to snoop in and snap some pics of the wedding.
Adam and Behati then spent their honeymoon in South Africa – the bride’s homeland.
Adam and Behati’s Little Girls
Approximately 2 years after their marriage, Adam and Behati announced that they were expecting their first child together. In September of the same year, their daughter Dusty Rose was born. Yes, she’s the cute little baby that appeared in Maroon 5’s Girls Like You music video.
The couple welcomed their second daughter, Gio Grace, two years later. She and her older sister are kept out of the limelight as much as possible by both Adam and Behati – a common move by most celebrity couples like Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, and Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
So far, both Adam and Behati are loving their time together as parents of two girls. They’ve even admitted to wanting more kids! We’re looking forward to seeing additional members to the Levine family, for sure!
Indeed, Behati and Adam’s love story is far from perfect. However, their admiration and care for each other is proof that true love does exist – you just have to work hard for it.
