As a breast cancer survivor, Sheryl Crow has decided that she needs to put her health as her number one priority.
The Strong Enough singer has made drastic changes to her lifestyle in order to take better care of her body – this is importance, especially since she’s got two boys to look after.
Her health-conscious way of life may be the reason for her youthful look despite already being in her 60s. Now, people are curious to learn more about Sheryl Crow’s diet plan. Is she vegan? What type of foods does she eat? Let’s find out.
Sheryl Crow is Against Animal Cruelty
Sheryl has never been one to bite her tongue when it comes to serious issues in the society, and that includes animal cruelty.
In 2010, Sheryl became the spokesperson for Humane Society of the United States – an organization with the aim to fight for the rights of animals. In a video, Sheryl shared the reason why she decided to partner with the HSUS:
“It’s wonderful what the Humane Society does here in Tenesse as well as in Nashville when you have pretty widely-publicized situations where people are neglecting horses. There’s a real history to these animals and to not appreciate and respect that they were here first and that they are as much owners of the land as we are, it grieves me.”
Indeed, it is truly commendable for Sheryl to take part in such an amazing cause. And to take things a step further, she even has a saloon in her own home to take care of horses.
But does that mean she’s vegan?
Sheryl Crow’s Diet Plan
While she may be an advocate for animal rights, Sheryl has not stopped eating meat and animal products. In fact, she also happens to be a supporter of cow milk. She even admitted that she loves eating cream cheese.
But, her diet isn’t something that involves her just buying and cooking whatever she wants to eat. According to her personal chef, the singer is currently in a microbiotic diet.
This diet is perfect for those who are trying to reduce toxins in their bodies, as it mainly includes eating whole grains and vegetables. Moreover, the artist also avoids eating foods that are high in:
- Fat
- Salt
- Sugar
- Artificial ingredients
Meanwhile, Sheryl does have a few favorite meals that follow her strict dietary requirements. These are:
- Avocado
- Wild-caught tuna salad
- Roasted root vegetables
- Pomegranate juice
- Quinoa salad
Even when she’s touring, Sheryl still doesn’t stray far from her diet. Her personal chef revealed that she eats the following snacks when she’s on the road:
- Bananas
- Apples
- Cantaloupe
- Fat-free Greek yogurt
- Low-sodium almonds
- Crudite vegetables
- Mary’s Gone Crackers
- Air-popped popcorn
As you can see, Sheryl Crow’s diet plan isn’t one that follows veganism.
Sheryl Crow Has a Cook Book Guide To Healthy Living
In 2011, Sheryl Crow, together with her personal chef Chuck White, published their very first cook book entitled If It Makes You Healthy: More Than 100 Delicious Recipes Inspired By the Seasons.
